Benewake’s SR18 is in production; retail availability starts November 30

The $299 LiDAR’s launch separates manufacturing from purchase availability. Its 30‑metre range specification also comes with a reflectivity condition.

Production now; purchasing later

Benewake’s [October 30 release](https://en.prnasia.com/releases/apac/benewake‑introduces‑compact‑power‑efficient‑sr‑series‑360‑3d‑lidars‑for‑mobile‑robots‑sr18‑enters‑mass‑production‑553923.shtml) says SR18 is in mass production. It schedules worldwide availability from November 30 at US$299 through Mouser Electronics, Amazon, Robu.in and Alibaba.com. The release also introduces SR96, but gives it no equivalent price or retail date. The company pitches the sensor for mobile robots, including embodied‑AI platforms.

Read 30 metres with its condition

For SR18, Benewake [specifies](https://en.prnasia.com/releases/apac/benewake‑introduces‑compact‑power‑efficient‑sr‑series‑360‑3d‑lidars‑for‑mobile‑robots‑sr18‑enters‑mass‑production‑553923.shtml) detection as close as 15 cm and up to 30 metres at 10% reflectivity. The announcement gives no comparable range for a darker target. Omitting reflectivity would remove a condition attached to the quoted maximum. A hypothetical chassis part 10 cm from the sensor is closer than the quoted 15 cm. Whether SR18 detects it cannot be answered from that stated distance.
