Cloudflare postpones AI Search billing and lengthens its default sync interval

The billing date changes without new rates; synchronization remains configurable.

A later billing start

[Cloudflare’s November 2 changelog](https://developers.cloudflare.com/changelog/post/2026‑11‑02‑billing‑postponed‑default‑sync‑interval/) moves AI Search billing from November 1 to December 1, 2026. It says usage before December 1 will not be charged; pricing and included usage are unchanged. The deferral changes when billing begins, rather than announcing a different rate card. The linked pricing page was not reviewed for this report.

A separate freshness decision

[The default sync interval changes from six to 24 hours](https://developers.cloudflare.com/changelog/post/2026‑11‑02‑billing‑postponed‑default‑sync‑interval/), while supported choices still run from 15 minutes to 24 hours. That default does not identify a particular instance’s current setting or promise immediate updates. The billing postponement and the retrieval‑content refresh cadence are separate changes.
