Fabricate’s free import check precedes credit-using builds and paid publishing
React and plain HTML projects can be checked before a working build uses credits; publishing has a separate plan requirement.
Check before building
Fabricate’s [October 30 changelog](https://fabricate.build/changelog) says Import a project, in the sidebar, accepts a public GitHub link or ZIP file for a React or plain HTML project and checks it for free. The first build that gets it running uses credits. The free stage is therefore the check, rather than a completed running copy.
Publishing has another requirement
The [October 14 change](https://fabricate.build/changelog) says publishing an app, or publishing changes to it, now requires a paid plan. That later rule supersedes June’s first‑publish‑free entry. Build credits and a publishing plan are separate requirements: the import entry does not say the check needs a paid plan, nor does it restore free publishing.
