Meta Forum adds AI rule checks and drafting for Facebook group admins
The US app adds suggested rule‑checking tags, more flexible automated moderation and a shared posting calendar. Admins still need to distinguish the tools’ roles.
A review aid inside the Forum app
Meta has added AI‑assisted post checks and drafting tools to Forum, its app for Facebook Groups. In its [October 23 announcement](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/10/new‑tools‑for‑the‑admins‑who‑build‑communities‑on‑forum/), the company says admin AI can label pending posts according to whether they are likely to follow a group’s rules, while a separate tool, Admin Assist, handles automated moderation under rules chosen by admins.
Forum is available in the United States on iOS and Android, with users signing in through their Facebook account to access their groups. The new controls are useful to distinguish before enabling them: a suggestion about a post and a rule that acts on a post serve different purposes. Meta’s announcement describes the features, but provides no independent measure of their accuracy or the time they save.
Rule‑checking tags help admins decide what to review
[Admin AI](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/10/new‑tools‑for‑the‑admins‑who‑build‑communities‑on‑forum/) already helps triage pending posts and member requests, suggests next steps and highlights topics members are discussing. The update adds tags in the pending‑post queue and admin AI indicating whether a post likely meets the rules an admin has set or may go against them.
Those labels are presented as assistance for deciding what to approve. A group’s context still matters: a post that discusses a prohibited behavior to warn other members may require different treatment from a post promoting it. The practical use is to focus an admin’s attention, rather than assume that a tag establishes why a particular post belongs in or out of the group.
Admin Assist uses the moderation conditions admins choose
[Meta’s description of Admin Assist](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/10/new‑tools‑for‑the‑admins‑who‑build‑communities‑on‑forum/) concerns automated moderation, with more flexible combinations of conditions such as post length, links and previous moderation actions. Admins choose those rules and remain responsible for what their group allows; Meta says posts also remain subject to Facebook’s Community Standards.
A team reviewing its setup therefore needs to look at both layers: which items admin AI flags for attention and which conditions Admin Assist uses to moderate automatically. A more detailed rule can encode a group’s preferences, but the announcement does not establish that a combination of conditions will handle every exception correctly.
Drafting and a shared calendar support the admin team
Admin AI can also draft posts for admins to review, edit and publish when ready. Meta says the [new batch workflow](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/10/new‑tools‑for‑the‑admins‑who‑build‑communities‑on‑forum/) can help draft and schedule up to five posts at once. A shared calendar lets admins and moderators see what their team has scheduled, while a new pinning option can keep an answer, correction or clarification visible in a comment thread.
For groups with several people posting, the calendar provides a common place to check planned content before adding another announcement. Drafts still need review for the group’s voice, factual accuracy and timing. The batch size describes how many posts the tool can help prepare and schedule; it is not evidence that every group should publish that many.
Availability and the group’s own rules come first
Meta is also introducing insights tailored to whether a group is new, growing or established, displayed in the group and Forum’s Admin Home. Admin Home will carry updates about new Facebook Group features as well. [The release](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/10/new‑tools‑for‑the‑admins‑who‑build‑communities‑on‑forum/) places these additions alongside the moderation and coordination tools, without publishing a detailed rollout matrix for every group or a guarantee that each account will see every control immediately.
Admins can start by checking the options actually available in their Forum app and reviewing the rules their group already uses. Keep suggested decisions, automated moderation conditions and scheduled posts distinct when explaining the setup to other moderators. That makes it clearer which actions the tools assist with and which choices the team has configured.
