OpenAI separates its safety-report plan from staged ChatGPT safeguards
The first report is planned for early 2027; safeguards begin rolling out over the coming weeks.
Two timetables
OpenAI’s [October 30 announcement](https://openai.com/index/community‑safety‑report‑and‑new‑protections‑for‑teens/) plans its first Community Safety Report for early 2027, covering the second half of 2026. Safeguards begin rolling out in the next few weeks.
Limits and alert status
Restrictions on detailed reconstructions of past mass attacks apply across ages. Additional under‑18 limits cover practical weapons and security‑system information, even without apparent violent intent.
OpenAI is developing parent notifications for temporary account pauses after repeated chats are ended over violence concerns. Existing alerts for linked parents about teen account deactivation over violence‑policy violations were expanded in July.
A rollout timetable does not establish availability on a particular account.
