DescriptionClownfish Voice Changer is a free Windows voice-effects application from developer Bogdan Sharkov, whose official site identifies Shark Labs, Sofia. It changes audio at the microphone capture-device level, so applications using that configured input can receive the effect. Current main download packages target Windows 10 and 11. The main app includes pitch and character effects, a sound player, a music player, keyboard controls and VST plugin support. The base effect list should not be confused with a library of AI-generated voices. Its documented VC Client connection uses a separate external voice-conversion tool; the external software, model setup and permissions are additional considerations. Installation requires administrator rights and choosing the capture device to modify. The official instructions say the default capture device is selected initially, with other devices available through Setup. Choose the installer matching the operating system and the VST variant you need. Enable a voice effect, use Hear microphone to preview it, and test the actual microphone in your call or game before relying on the result. Clownfish's separate Terminal Edition routes an audio input to a chosen output and lists Windows, macOS and Linux downloads. It requires additional software to create a virtual audio device. Those downloads do not mean that the main Windows graphical app has the same interface and setup on Mac or Linux. The official site includes a free software license notice permitting use and redistribution subject to its conditions. That software permission does not automatically license outside plugins, voice models, music or sounds. Use the official download page for the current edition and setup notes. Compare Voicemod for a desktop voice catalog and soundboards with Free and PRO access; Clownfish is an alternative when a Windows device-level effects workflow fits your needs.Respeecher offers several routes to synthetic speech. Voice Marketplace combines an AI voice library with text-to-speech and speech-to-speech conversion, including a Pro Tools plugin workflow. Speech-to-speech starts from a recorded performance; text-to-speech starts from a script. Respeecher Space is a separate real-time TTS API for voice applications, while custom Voice Lab projects cover bespoke voice work. Choose by input, delivery latency and integration, rather than assuming one subscription includes every product. For Marketplace, pay-as-you-go starts with five credits for $5, listed as 20,000 TTS characters or five speech-to-speech minutes. Larger packs currently display discounted prices of $15 for 16 credits, $27 for 30, $70 for 100 and $250 for 500. Subscription Creator includes 400,000 TTS characters and 90 STS minutes for $89 per month; Power includes three million characters and 900 minutes for $499 per month. The first-month offers are $44.50 and $249.50, not the ongoing monthly price. Annual billing is offered separately; its displayed monthly equivalents are not month-to-month charges. A TTS-only slider offers different character allowances, so check the selected allowance and renewal amount before subscribing. The FAQ advertises a three-day free trial, but Marketplace terms prohibit commercial projects on trial plans. Subscription minutes reset on the billing date without rollover; purchased credits expire after one year unless agreed otherwise in writing. Marketplace terms also restrict organizations exceeding $1 million in annual revenue to a custom subscription when using the service commercially. Space has separate pay-as-you-go pricing: its product page currently lists $2 per 60,000 characters, described as roughly one hour of audio. Character count is the stated billing unit; speaking duration varies. Start a voice-conversion evaluation with clean, isolated recordings, calibrate the source voice, and compare pronunciation, timing and performance against the original. Obtain explicit permission for a target person's voice and document the intended use. Respeecher's ethics page says client data is used to train AI voice models, so this is not a blanket no-training service. Its privacy policy describes purpose-based retention; the FAQ's account-deletion processing window of up to 30 days is not an automatic audio-file expiry promise. Agree project, access and deletion requirements before uploading confidential recordings.
