India's Leap into the Chip Industry: First Private Fab Set for Andhra Pradesh!
India is set to establish its first private semiconductor fabrication facility in Andhra Pradesh, marking a pivotal moment in its tech landscape. This ₹14,000 crore project will leverage strategic MoUs with YITOA Microtechnology and Indichip Semiconductors, focusing on Silicon Carbide (SiC) chips, which are essential for energy-efficient technologies. With an initial capacity of 10,000 wafers per month, the project aims to scale to 50,000 and bolster India's Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision.
